Show Management, the event promoter, has made a significant effort to place a special emphasis on the high-performance section of the show that has traditionally been known as ‘Thunder Boat Row.’ With all of the major industry players in attendance, the high performance dock located at the Bahia Mar will showcase the P1-28SS Panther build by Mystic Powerboats alongside all manner of high performance powerboats.
“We will be showing off the outstanding quality of the P1 Panther by Mystic in its pleasure boat configuration”, said Martin Sanborn, Managing Director of North American Operations. “The easy conversion from pleasure to race is a huge part of the design of the boat, making it a genuine race on Sunday - play on Monday recreational boat. SuperStock USA Goes Karting!
P1 SuperStock USA has also teamed with Ocala Gran Prix, and owner Jorge Arellano, to help promote the series into 2013. Ocala Gran Prix runs the Rotax Max Challenge Series, a one-make kart racing championship. It features a BRP Rotax engine package in each kart exactly like the BRP engine powering every Panther race boat. “The single engine format levels the playing field for the competitors in our karting series, and that is what attracted me to the P1 SuperStock series,” said Arellano. “By bringing a stock engine format back to boat racing, and a focus on regional racing, P1 USA is making the sport more accessible,” he continued.
P1 SuperStock will also have displays in Key West at the Florida Powerboat Club Poker Run Village in Key West, FL November 8-11, 2012, The Performance Racing Industry show in Orlando, FL November 29-December 1, 2012, and finally at the Miami International Boat Show in Miami FL, February 14-18, 2013.
